So many new gluten-free products have flooded the market over the last year that it’s tough to keep track of them all. Our writers at Celiac-Disease.com have sampled many of the new items and share their opinions about which ones are worth trying in the articles below.

Outside of the United States, the number of gluten free grocery options seems to grow quite a bit, and based upon my research, Toronto (Canada) is no exception! Below I’ve collected a number of grocery stores and other outlets that offer some sort of gluten free menu or other gluten free options. Whenever possible, I’ve included a street address as well. Hy-Vee Gluten Free Groceries Information

While most of the United States has Whole Foods Market and/or Trader Joes in their area, for much of the Midwest, this just isn’t the case. Fortunately, much of the Midwest has access to a major grocery chain which is very friendly with the Celiac community. That grocery chain is of course Hy-Vee Foods.

Over the past decade, Hy-Vee has been proactive in their quest to meet their customer’s needs by adding a health food section to their stores, which naturally includes several essential gluten-free packaged items those of us who follow a strict gluten-free diet. This is especially convenient for people who live in small towns that don’t have specialty health food stores.

In addition to the new health foods section, Hy-Vee has also gone through all of the product on their shelves and built a huge list of products which were confirmed to be naturally gluten-free. This list is updated regularly and is available for anyone to download on their website here (scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the PDF link). I didn’t link directly to the list as it changes a few times each year, so I figured it would be better to link directly to the actual source, which can be bookmarked!

If that wasn’t convenient enough, most Hy-Vee stores also staff dietitians which are available to consult with Hy-Vee shoppers. In addition to performing their normal roles, these dietitians will often accept feedback on existing gluten-free products, and in my experience they will also bring in requested products to their stores.

How to Find Gluten Free Groceries in Phoenix

Whether you live in the Phoenix, Arizona area or plan to travel their in the near future, it is a good idea to know where you can find gluten free groceries in the area. To date, our Arizona gluten free groceries page isn’t exactly loaded with information, so I was excited to see a report over at The Examiner covering a few local places in the Phoenix area that offer gluten free products.

Here are a few locations in Phoenix which are listed as covering gluten free foods:

Safeway – Large grocery chain, so should be easy to find
Trader Joe’s – Large grocery chain, so should be easy to find
Whole Foods Market – Large grocery chain, so should be easy to find
Fresh and Easy Neighborhood Market – Has a growing selection of gluten free products
Fry’s Marketplace – Natural organic foods
Sprouts Farmers Market – Location known for its great pricing

Whole Foods Market’s Gluten Free Products List

No matter where you live within the United States, there is a good chance that you will find a Whole Foods Market in your local area. This of course is a good thing, as Whole Foods Market has always been very good to the Celiac community. They are educated on the gluten free diet, and most locations have a pretty impressive selection of gluten free products.

While digging for a gluten free products list for Whole Foods Market, I noticed a new section of their website devoted completely to the gluten free groceries that they offer, which can be viewed here. If you view the menu on the right where it says Gluten Free Living, you’ll find some sublinks to more specific gluten free information.

Gluten Free Groceries: San Francisco

San Francisco is a major city in the United States and a popular tourist destination, so it makes sense that there would be quite a few people seeking out gluten free groceries in this area.

Amy Fothergill, the San Francisco Gluten Free Examiner, recently published a great roundup of locations that offer gluten free products in the San Francisco area, which can be read here. Of course Whole Foods Market and Trader Joe’s makes the list, but there are a large number of smaller grocery stores included as well!

Draeger’s Markets Offer Gluten Free Groceries

Thanks to a readers submission, it looks like Draeger’s Markets, located throughout the state of California, offers a large number of gluten free grocery products found in dedicated isles. If you live in or plan to visit California in the near future, Draeger’s Markets four locations are in San Mateo, Blackhawk, Menlo Park, and Los Altos.
